We are ridiculously excited to announce our next Wright's Night on Sunday November 25th with @anjadunk & @ourtwoacres. We have long been huge fans of Anja & Jen's food and have been plotting to get them to come to Llanarthne to cook for some time.
Jen lives on a smallholding in West Wales with her family, fulfilling a long term
dream to live by the sea. After a career in the hospitality industry in London she
now runs a catering company, Our Two Acres and has co-written her first book
Do Preserve with Anja and Mimi Beaven. She also cooks in the kitchen at the wonderful
sourdough bakery and cafe, Bara Menyn in Cardigan.
Anja was born in Carmarthen to a Welsh father and a German mother. She is a
cook, artist and writer. Her fantastic book ‘Strudel, Noodles and Dumplings’ is a
celebration of modern German home cooking and has just been serialised in The Guardian. The food she cooks is influenced by her family history, the seasons and the bounty of produce that grows wild in
the Welsh countryside.
Jen and Anja have come together to cook for many events and gatherings over
the years and this is the first supper as part of their new venture - A travelling
kitchen called ‘Our Two Tables’. Below is the menu for their night with us.
Pork pate or carrot & coriander pate (V) / bread & butter pickles / rye & buttermilk crackers
Potato & apple filled pasta squares
Lamb chops or parsley portobello mushroom (V) / potato millefeuille / seasonal greens / Butter leeks
Bavarian cream / berry compote / vanilla biscuits
Boozy prunes / walnut & vodka marzipan
